BIO

As one-half of Zombi, in which he plays synthesizer and bass guitar, STEVE MOORE's affinity for unsettling mood and motif is well-documented. Over the band's two self-released EPs and five full-length releases, Zombi provided Moore with the chance to turn his blood-red obsession with U.S. and Italian horror films of the 1970s and 1980s into his own brand of cinema for the ears, preferably ones capped with headphones in a darkened room, black candles optional.

Gradually, STEVE MOORE's infusion of Zombi's music with progressive-rock elements reached an apex with the "Cosmos" album. Arrangements growing in scope and ambition, fusion-informed rhythmic complexity, and even the odd keyboard solo and anachronistic MIDI sequence recalled not only the mid-1980s AOR-prog of Rush, but also the works of Tangerine Dream and Jan Hammer.

STEVE MOORE's debut solo album for Relapse, "The Henge," was released in October 2007, and was the first release in what would soon become a prolific career of full-lengths, collaborations, scores, EPs, and much more, released on a wide variety of labels ranging from Mexican Summer & Temporary Residence to L.I.E.S. and Relapse. Additionally, Moore contributed to the score for the widely popular horror/thriller film The Guest, and has remixed a diverse array of artists including Camille, Lower Dens, Maserati, The Melvins, Sally Shapiro, Turing Machine and Voivod.

Following the highly-acclaimed 2015 release of his score for Belgian horror film Cub, STEVE MOORE returned with a mesmerizing new soundtrack for the action/horror film The Mind's Eye. More vivid and dynamic than ever, The Mind's Eye demonstrates STEVE MOORE's mastery of the vignette alongside his ability to weave together cohesive, consistent themes. Over the course of eighty-five minutes, STEVE MOORE crafts a riveting portrait of tension and terror through a variety of textures ranging from probing dark ambient and slick arpeggiations to anxious sound collage and epic, gothic bombast.

Now in 2017, STEVE MOORE returns with another hypnotizing new score for the acclaimed action/horror film Mayhem, starring Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Okja). A veritable portrait of shock and dread across seventy-plus minutes of analog synth tension, STEVE MOORE methodically crafts pulsating rhythms and penetrating arpeggios that constrict the listener into a deep sense of aural anxiety.
